How to migrate from Lumi Wallet?

Lumi Wallet is an open-source, non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet. It was founded in 2017. The Android app was released in 2018. There is also a web wallet version.

Lumi Wallet uses the BIP39 standard to generate a mnemonic phrase of twelve words. Coin Wallet satisfies the requirements of this standard.

How to migrate from Lumi Wallet?

1. You must first find your 12-word mnemonic recovery phrase in order to migrate your bitcoins from Lumi Wallet. Use the Lumi Wallet mobile app and the instructions listed below to find your mnemonic recovery phrase.

2. Log in to your existing Coin Wallet account using your 12-word Lumi Wallet mnemonic recovery phrase.

Completed! You can now use your bitcoins.

Derivation paths

There is one more setting to be made because the default derivation paths of Ethereum differ.

1. Select Ethereum.

2. Navigate to the "Derivation Path" page.

3. Enter m/44'/60'/0'/0/0 into the input and click the "Save" button.

Accounts

Lumi Wallet allows you to create multiple Ethereum accounts to a single mnemonic phrase. For multiple accounts, the derivation path is m/44'/60'/i'/0/0. "i" should be replaced with the account number (for example, m/44'/60'/1'/0/0 for Account 1, m/44'/60'/2'/0/0 for Account 2).
